John Lennon Went 'Mean Girl' To Paul McCartney In Unearthed Letter

November 14, 2016
It's the stuff rock 'n roll legend is built on - sex, drugs and egos.

A 1971 letter from John Lennon to Paul McCartney shows how strained their friendship was after Lennon left The Beatles. The letter, which is up for auction this week, is a response to an article from Linda and Paul McCartney that apparently made Lennon lol. Think of it as an epic old school Twitter war.

His trite response: "I was reading your letter and wondering what middle aged cranky Beatles fan wrote it. Do you really think most of today's art came about because of the Beatles? — I don't believe you're that insane — Paul — do you believe that?"

Despite the somewhat Mean Girl tone, Lennon says, "inspite of it all, love to you both." Read more of it here.

The letter is expected to sell for at least $20,000!
